My nails have turned yellow and I think its from nail polish?

I put one type of color of nail polish on one hand and a different one on another, and its the same type of brand just different colors.On one hand my nails turned yellow and on the other its perfectly fine. I was wondering if the yellow is caused by the nail polish, will it go away on its own? If not what can I do to make it go away? and does it ever go away? And if its not from the nail polish, what happened? Thanks guys(:
