Can you have bad cramping in your lower back?

can you have bad cramping in your lower back and soreness in both the sides of your hips in early pregnancy like 4 weeks preggo? i had severs cramping all through the night in my lower stomach and noticed that i was passing a little gasbut the cramps dont feel like gas cramps but more like cramps before your period starts. now today i am cramping sooo bad in my lower back and my hips are so sore. is this normal?
